The second edition of Nick Whittock's Covers keeps on selling fast and to this end we're holding a re-launch on Thursday 16th June, at the Victorian Writers Centre (first floor, 37 Swanston St, Melbourne), from 6pm onwards.

Special guest on the night will be writer and cricket afficionado Gideon Haigh who will re-launch the book with (we hope) some choice words. Gideon's publications include The Cricket War: The Inside Story of Kerry Packer's World Series Cricket (Text, 1993) and Game For Anything: Writings on Cricket (Black Inc, 2004). We asked Steve Waugh to officiate but he declined.

In addition, we'll be holding an auction for a limited edition hand-painted copy of “Covers”. Channel Nine merchandisers, look and learn. A cricketer's “tea” will also be provided and Nick himself will probably roll the arm over before retiring to the pavilion for a hard-earned beer and an autograph or two.

Finally, the launch will serve as the virtual beginning of Nick's new cyberspace odyssey: the Ashes series blog. Yes, well may you say that you've experienced the Test Series phenomenon, but you ain't seen nothing. Yet.

Entry is free. Copies of Nick's book will be available for the criminally low sum of $20.
