Last Saturday saw the launch of “Covers” by Nick Whittock in the peaceful surrounds of Candelo, on the NSW south coast. Promotion for the event was white hot, with Nick being interviewed on ABC local radio the day before the launch. We're also told that the launch will be advertised in next week's Bega Valley News. Oh well.

Encouragingly, fifty punters turned up to hear Nick read some of his poems and to enjoy the sociable atmosphere of the Candelo Town Hall Caf?à. The launch was made a special event by its coincidence with Nick's dad's birthday. He was later heard to say that the launch was “the best birthday present” he could have wished for. Our thanks to Katrina and Andrew for their hospitality.

Copies of “Covers” are selling fast, with the first print run of 100 almost sold out! South coast readers will be excited to learn that copies are also available in Candelo Books (Bega).

We'll be posting photos from both the Melbourne and Candelo launches in the near future. Until then, COD on.
