Well it's been a long time coming but finally – finally! – Nick Whittock's wonderful book of poems “Covers” is all set and a-ready for launching.

In the tradition of snap elections, snap drinks and the card game also known as snap, we're putting on an electrifyingly impending launch TOMORROW, WEDNESDAY DECEMBER 15, from 6pm to 8pm at the Victorian Writers Centre (37 Swanston St, Melbourne).

Free drinks will be provided, along with entertainment from performer Oliver Mann and a reading from Nick Whittock himself. The book will then be officially launched by COD f(l)ounder David Prater.

We're very excited about “Covers”. Not only does it look swell, it also contains all of the poems published in Cordite Poetry Review, plus the previously unpublished epic, Doosra Locomotion! You will not find this poem anywhere else, ever! In addition, if any further convincing is needed, the book contains a selection of photographs of sleepy cricketers.

So get on down to the VWC this Wednesday at 6pm. Fortuitously, the launch is snuggled in between various other poetry events happening in the city, so there's really no excuse for your non-attendance. Unless you're sick or something.
